Chris studied biological sciences at university and did a variety of jobs before turning his hand to education. For thirty years he has worked as a teacher, leader, adviser, senior LA officer and Ofsted
inspector in some of the most deprived areas of UK. He has developed a real expertise in
helping school leaders accurately evaluate where their school is and in planning and implementing the key actions that will secure improved outcomes. In his work with over 200 senior leadership teams he has never supported a school that did not at least maintain its Ofsted grade when next inspected. Chris has also developed real expertise in teaching and learning and uses a model he has developed to help teachers improve what happens in their classrooms. He also has a keen interest in how data can be used to target actions to improve teaching and learning and, for a time, led on question level analysis for the Pupil Performance Team at the DFE. Now as an education consultant he is working with primary and secondary schools to improve the quality of their provision.
